Lesbian, bisexual, and queer women as well as transgender men and non-binary people who were assigned female at birth are less likely to be screened for cervical cancer than their heterosexual, cisgender counterparts. This presentation will discuss some of the barriers that prevent sexual and gender minority individuals who are assigned female at birth from taking care of their cervical health. This presentation will also discuss some steps to take to make “traditional woman-only” spaces more LGBT affirming and welcoming as well as alternative options for cervical Pap tests, such as self-sampling kits. Finally, we’ll discuss Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center’s new health promotion campaign, “If you’ve got it, Pap it!”
